The VLT interferometer
This image shows staff working on the Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI). The VLTI is a complex optical instrument which combines the light coming from several Unit Telescopes or Auxiliary Telescopes, allowing for more precise observations than are possible using a single telescope.
