Coudé spectrograph on the ESO 1.52-metre telescope
The Coudé spectrograph on the ESO 1.52-metre telescope, in 1969. The light arrives from the telescope via the black tube on the left, and a periscope (seen deployed) allows the astronomer to centre the telescope on the star he want to observe.
