Participa junto a ESO y ALMA en Puerto de Ideas Antofagasta 2025

Como parte de su compromiso con la divulgación científica y el vínculo con la comunidad, los observatorios ESO y ALMA participarán en una nueva edición del Festival de Ciencias Puerto de Ideas Antofagasta, uno de los encuentros de conocimiento más relevantes del país.
Esta nueva versión del festival se realizará del 24 al 27 de abril y contará con más de 100 actividades en diversas áreas, como inteligencia artificial, biodiversidad, oceanografía, vulcanología, ingeniería, robótica, matemáticas, arte y astronomía, una disciplina especialmente destacada en la zona, que cuenta con los cielos más prístinos del mundo y telescopios de vanguardia.
Los observatorios ESO y ALMA, ambos ubicados en la Región de Antofagasta, estarán presentes con diversas exposiciones y charlas. Destaca la participación de Itziar de Gregorio, representante de ESO en Chile, quien relatará la extraordinaria construcción del ELT, el telescopio óptico más grande del mundo destancando los cielos oscuros y prístinos en que se encuentra, así como la astrónoma Priscilla Nowajewski, de ALMA, quien ofrecerá una charla sobre el clima y la atmósfera en exoplanetas y su potencial habitabilidad.
Además, por primera vez durante el festival, habrá una visita guiada para disfrutar el atardecer y apertura de los telescopios del Observatorio Paranal, lugar con los cielos más oscuros del mundo.
También es parte de la programación del festival la obra teatral Kelü, sobre un encuentro improbable entre dos famosas astrónomas en el Observatorio La Silla.
