Aerial view of ESO Headquarters

In Garching bei München, nestled into the lush Bavarian landscape, are the ESO Headquarters and the ESO Supernova Planetarium & Visitor Centre, both of which are pictured in this incredible image from an ultralight plane.

The construction site of the ESO Supernova, encircled by cranes, can be seen in the centre of the frame. The original ESO Headquarters building is visible towards the bottom right corner, alongside the new extension building — identifiable through its distinct red roof.
