The volcano in the desert

This image shows the vastness of the Atacama Desert. In the very back of the image one can see the mountain Llullaillaco, a stratovolcano at the border of Argentina and Chile. The 6739m high mountain is not only the seventh highest mountain of the Andes but also the second highest volcano in the world.
