ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT)

Enclosures of the four Unit Telescopes (UT) that comprise ESO's Very Large Telescope are seen to be bathed in the warming orange glow of the Sun. The grid of tracks on which the smaller Auxiliary Telescopes (AT) — two of which are captured — travel stretch in all directions atop ESO's Paranal Observatory, located in northern Chile.
