Yepun and the Laser Guide Star
The beam of the Laser Guide Star system, on the ESO Very Large Telescope's Unit Telescope 4 (named Yepun), shoots into the night on Cerro Paranal. In the sky to the right of the beam, the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds, neighbouring galaxies of our Milky Way, can be seen.
