Capturing the ultra high definition Universe (annotated)

This photo, taken at the ESO's Paranal Observatory, is the first photograph from the ESO Ultra HD Expedition — a revolutionary journey currently being undertaken by four world-renowned videographers and ESO Photo Ambassadors.

The image shows The four Unit Telescopes — Antu, Kueyen, Melipal and Yepun — one of the Auxiliary Telescopes of the Very Large Telescope (VLT) and the VLT Survey Telescope (VST).

Annotated in the sky are Vega, Altair and Antares — some of the brighter stars in the sky — two irregular dwarf galaxies — the Small and the Large Magellanic Clouds — the Moon, Venus, Saturn and, of course, the Milky Way.
