Format of the e-posters

INFORMATION FOR TALKING PARTICIPANTS

Meeting platform:

This workshop will be held fully online using Microsoft Teams.

You run MS Teams either directly in your Browser or the app on your computer/tablet/phone -- if you don't have it already you can install it - it is available (for free!) for MacOS, Windows, Linux (not all operating systems though -- RPM and Debian based packages are available), iOS,  and Android.

e-Posters options

The virtual format of the workshop gives us a lot more flexibility regarding the format for creating and presenting "posters". As we detail further below, participants will be allowed to choose to either provide a poster PDF, a short (max 5 minute) video talk, or an animated gif. You will upload your choice to the Threats from the surroundings e-Workshop 2020 Teams chat in one of three channels that mirror the main themes of the workshop: posters_dynamics, posters_evaporation and posters_largescales. Please check to which theme your poster has been assigned on the Poster Papers page

You can also post the poster on social media, using the hashtag #TftS2020.

Please upload your poster file to the 'Files' section of the Teams 'posters_dynamics' or  posters_evaporation or posters_largescales channel by Monday November 9th, and we will take care of making it available to all participants. You can also post the poster by yourself on the appropriate Team channel, as described on the poster channels on Teams.

Format 1: a simple PDF file

If you want to prepare a "standard" PDF poster, you are free to do it. Please upload your poster file to the 'Files' section of the Teams 'poster_dynamics(or evaporation or largescales)' channel by Monday November 9th.

Please feel then free to post your poster on the Threats from the surroundings e-Workshop 2020 Team in the poster channel that best fits your contribution.

Format 2: a short (max. 5 min) video

A second possibility we offer is to record a short video (max 5 min) presenting your work with the aid of a few slides. Several tools can be used to record the video (e.g., obsproject, iMovie). An example of a video prepared with obsproject can be found here: video.

Please upload your poster video to the 'Files' section of the Teams 'poster_dynamics(or evaporation or largescales)' channel by Monday November 9th. Please feel free to also post your video on the Threats from the surroundings e-Workshop 2020 Team in the poster channel that best fits your contribution.

Format 3: an animated GIF file

Teams supports GIF animations up to 15 seconds in length. You have the possibility to thus create a short three/four slides presentation with Powerpoint or other tools, and save it by "Exporting" it as a "Create Animated GIF" with ~3-5 seconds spent on each slide. Please check this video for an explanation on how to create such e-poster.

Please upload your poster gif file to the 'Files' section of the Teams 'poster_dynamics(or evaporation or largescales)' channel by Monday November 9th. Please feel then free to also post your GIF animated poster on the Threats from the surroundings e-Workshop 2020 Team in the poster channel that best fits your contribution.
