MAD Science Demonstration

The Science Demonstration (SD) of MAD is carried out largely following the philosophy applied to the Science Verification of the VLT instruments (see the VLT Science Verification Policy and Procedures document as reference).

MAD SD runs took place in November 2007 (SD1), January 2008 (SD2) and August 2008 (SD3).

The MAD SD Team is chaired by J. Melnick and includes the following team members: E. Marchetti (INS), P. Amico (PSO), S. D'Odorico (INS), R. Gilmozzi (TSD), J. Kolb (INS), M. Sterzik (PSO), and Y. Wang (ex ESO Student Santiago).

Important Notes

Before downloading the SD data please READ CAREFULLY the MAD SD1 & SD2 Data Guidelines and the MAD SD3 Data Guidelines documents. They contain critical information about programs' completeness and execution, data file naming (science and calibration) and IMPORTANT HINTS FOR DATA REDUCTION. The nightlogs can be downloaded here.
