Galactic neighbours
The Milky Way rises vertically into the skies above ESO's La Silla Observatory in Chile. Almost directly overhead the dome of the ESO 3.6-metre telescope is the Large Magellanic Cloud, one of the Milky Way's dwarf galaxy neighbours.
