Celestial equator above Paranal
Due to the long exposure time of this image not only the rotating telescopes are blurred, but also the trails of the stars on the sky becomes visible. The image sets the celestial equator in the centre, at which the stars form a straight line and start to become two circles — one for the northern and one for the southern hemisphere — on both of its sides.
