A compact array
These are the smallest of the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) antennae.
The 66 ALMA antennas are not all the same. The main array consists of 50 antennas with 12-metre dishes and the Atacama Compact Array (ACA) consists of twelve smaller 7-metre dishes — like the ones shown here — and four additional 12-metre dishes.
