Blurred vision at Paranal

Hot air emanating from a chimney on top of Paranal Observatory's power station distorts the view of ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT) seen in the background. Paranal is so remote that the Chilean power grid does not reach it, so it relies entirely on its own power station.
