The cold light of day
Fisheye lens photo taken inside one of the four Unit Telescopes of ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT), as it closes its eyes for the day after a night of observing. Cerro Paranal, the location of the VLT, offers excellent viewing conditions for astronomical telescopes, experiencing clear skies on about 300 nights per year.
