Diamond ring over La Silla Observatory

During the last seconds before the Moon totally eclipses the Sun, a "diamond ring" can be seen in the sky. The sky splits into day and night in a fantastic display that twists our perception of reality. Picture taken on 2 July 2019 at the ESO La Silla Observatory in the Atacama Desert, Chile.
