Small but powerful
In the centre of this image is one of the four Auxiliary Telescopes at the Paranal Observatory. Even though their main mirror is only 1.8-metre in diameter, these small telescopes can work together to create an even larger telescope and make, in this way, discoveries way beyond their size.
