Snowy scene atop Chajnantor
A dusting of snow on the floor and peaks of the Chajnantor Plateau compliments the icy tones of these Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array radio telescopes, which are pictured during a rare wintry flurry in the Atacama Desert.
Despite being one of the driest places on Earth, the Atacama Desert occasionally witnesses snowfall.
