A solargraph of three months of sunsets at La Silla
"Solargraphy" is a technique which uses a pinhole camera to capture the movements of the Sun in the sky over long periods of time (weeks or even months). This allows one to obtain continuous solar trails, with an unusual artistic effect. This solargraph was taken at La Silla looking northwest from the CAT telescope dome and shows three months of sunsets over the Pacific. For more information about this solargraph, please see ESO Messenger 141, p 43 (PDF).
