APEX on snowy Chajnantor
The 12-metre dish of the ESO operated Atacama Pathfinder Experiment (APEX) telescope points towards the blue sky in the foreground of a snowy scene on Chajnantor Plateau in northern Chile. One of the numerous peaks surrounding the site, which also hosts the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), can be seen.
