Extended desert arc at Paranal
A stunning panorama — extended to 360 x 180 degrees (with black) — of one of the VLT Unit Telescopes (UTs) at the Paranal Observatory in Chile, framed by the arcing Milky Way. This picture is taken from lower on the mountain, where the high altitude and remoteness allow for the spectacularly clear skies seen above the facility.
