Star trails at Paranal with laser

This long-exposure fish-eye photograph captures the movement of the sky around the celestial pole. The four Unit Telescopes of the Very Large Telescope are visible at the bottom. The orange sweep in the right hand part of the image is caused by the VLT's laser guide star facility.
