Tim de Zeeuw, whose ten-year service as ESO Director General began in September 2007, has many interesting objects in his office, including the Helm of Sauron from the Lord of the Rings, and LEGO® models of ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT) and forthcoming Extremely Large Telescope (ELT).
