Moonrise behind Yepun
The Moon peeks out from behind the 25-metre enclosure of Yepun, the fourth 8.2-metre Unit Telescope of ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT), in this stunning scene from atop the Paranal Observatory in northern Chile.
Yepun hosts an array of scientific instruments, including SINFONI, MUSE, HAWK-l and the Laser Guide Star.
