Put on the spot
The public enjoy quizzing the staff at the Garching Headquarters at the ESO 2017 Open House Day that was held on Saturday 21 October. Whilst ESO's telescopes are based far away in the Chilean desert, the core hub of ESO staff, students, outreach and research is based in Garching, Germany. Pictures of the ESO telescopes, including the Very Large Telescope (VLT), sites, and stunning astronomy images are displayed in a collage.
