Shining down on Paranal
Beyond a maintenance building, one of the four 8.2-metre Unit Telescopes that comprise ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT) is bathed in a warm, orange glow from a low-lying Sun. The VLT is located at ESO's Paranal Observatory in northern Chile.
