UVES SV Data Products

The data being released consist of the raw andcalibration data along with fits files of reducedspectra obtained following procedures which are fully described foreach set of spectra. It is emphasized that extraction and reductionof such spectra followed generic prescriptions.  Therefore, the reducedspectra released here are intended uniquely to allow users a quick-lookevaluation of the science quality of the data, thus helping the planningfor their most effective scientific exploitation. Of course, userswho intend to make use of the data are expected to extract and reduce thespectra again, optimizing the procedures for their own specific scientificgoals.

A Spectroscopic Surveyof Intermediate Redshift QSOs

3 QSOs were observed with a slit of 0.8" (red) and 0.9" (blue) when the seeing was good, and 1" when the seingwas mediocre
(R=50000-43000). A combination of the two Dichroic settings Dic 1(B346nm+ B580nm) and Dic2 (B347nm + R860nm) provided
the whole spectral range 300nm-1000nm. Depending on the seeing conditions, the binning of the CCD was 2x2 or 2x1, and exposure
times were between 1h and 1h30.
